Some Answer

על ספרי הראשון: כעין תשובה

מתוך HEBREW ABSTRACTS בטאון אגודת הפרופסורים לספרות ולשון עברית, ארה"ב

This book is a literary gem, even though some of its glitter was dimmed by unexpected developments. The work is set in the stunning events of the Six Day War, but it was written before the October 1973 hostilities. Still, in the turmoil of changing realities, the book retains much of the radiation of the heroine, Hagit, despite being “boxed in by life”.

During the Six-Day-War Hagit and her friend Anni find themselves in an air-shelter. Hagit flashes back life chunks of her being as a young woman. The blaring of the radio and the war bulletins punctuating and interrupting the episodes are the literary effects that create the mood of the narration.

It is a story of exasperated impulses, inner contentment and the eternal theme of love conquering all.

The National Association of Professors of Hebrew in American Institutions of Higher Learning, USA, 1974
